FILM MAKING

Film Making at ZIMA is designed to give a Film/TV aspirant extensive training in Film Making, spread over 12 months.

The lectures are structured around classic and contemporary films. This course covers the examination of current storytelling trends, terminology, and workflow, and includes the practical application of latest and emerging technologies.

The course is divided into 144 classroom sessions, 48 film appreciation sessions & 48 practical sessions (shifts), all put together to give you over 1000 hours of comprehensive training of the technical as well as the aesthetic aspects of filmmaking, imparted by ZIMA’s distinguished faculties.

During the course, the student will have to make 3 short films and on completion of the course, 1 final film/documentary.

  • Classroom editing practicals (practice of editing using footage shot by professional directors, mentors, and students)

ACTING

The syllabus is based on Stanislavsky's "Method Acting" model.

Exercises include Sense Memory, Observation, Imagination, Improvisations, Voice & Speech, Diction, Action Problems, Movement, Animal Study, Monologues, Scenes, Film Orientation, Play Back, Acting Analysis, Film Fights & Dance.

The last week of the course will be devoted to practical training of facing the camera leading to a professional show reel of their work for the Film Industry. This is an excellent opportunity for students to express their talent in front of industry experts from Bollywood and other regional film makers of Indian film industry.
